If you haven’t picked up on it already, one of the central tenants here at Ninety.io is that we don’t put anything into our product that we wouldn’t love to use ourselves. Because of this, it should be no surprise that the Meetings tool is one of our favorite parts of Ninety.io.
And despite being ardent practitioners, even we aren’t perfect about running our meetings as efficiently as possible. We baked plenty of tools into Meetings for that very reason; here are a few that are worth pointing out:
To run a Level 10 Meeting™ at peak efficiency, you shouldn’t be discussing much when scrolling through your EOS Scorecard™ data. Instead, the SOP should be turning that Scorecard topic or item into an Issue to be discussed during the IDS™ portion of the meeting, where you “Identify, Discuss and Solve” those concerns. (Note: Refer to EOS Worldwide or the book, Traction, by Gino Wickman for more information on this.)
We may all know this, but practicing it is a different challenge.
To make this process more intuitive, Ninety.io has implemented various methods to help you roll through your Scorecard quickly (as well as your Headlines and / or Issues, as these concepts all apply there as well).
Most people use the method of creating an Issue or To-Do out of a Scorecard item by opening up the details, hitting the “More actions” button, and select their evil from there. That’s a lot of steps... but what if I told you there was a faster way?
Simply right-click the item. If you’re on the Scorecard, the option to create a To-Do or “Make it an Issue” is right there! And the same holds for Issues; by simply right-clicking, you can assign them as a To-Do, or even a Rock, quickly.
Occasionally you’ll need to reference the V/TO™ or your Accountability Chart™, or even look back at the Scorecard while moving forward on the Issues. Don’t worry about opening up a new tab; we’ve given you the power to do that within the meeting itself. By clicking the “View Tool” button below the meeting agenda on the left side of the page, you can easily access any of your typical pages.
So why use this instead of just navigating yourself?
We don’t think it should be the end-all-be-all of your meetings, but the Timer is an essential aspect of making sure that you’re always GSSD™ (getting smart stuff done). If you open up a new page, and suddenly the timer is no longer visible, it’s all too easy to lose track of time and run your meeting over.
You checked off a bunch of items during your meeting. Great!
If you’re anything like us, all those completed tasks will bother you to no end. Here’s the thing: don’t worry about going through and archiving them all. That’s not an efficient use of your time. There are other things to discuss.
At the end of the meeting, you can simply hit the “Auto-Archive” toggle... and *poof!*... they’re all sent to the Archive. It’s that easy.
While it may not be fair to call meetings a necessary evil, there’s no doubt that running a more efficient meeting will improve the quality of life for everyone in your company. When you understand the Meetings tool’s flow within Ninety.io, GSSD will never be more manageable in your meetings.
Want to take a deeper dive? Join us Thursday, April 8 at 1pm EDT for an exclusive Ninety Webinar covering the features and functionality around the Meetings tool. At the end, we'll open things up to the audience for discussion, so be sure to join us! Registration ensures access to the playback.
